Welcome to LetzSchool!

Moving to Luxembourg is exciting, but many international families quickly discover that understanding the public school system can be challenging. With multiple languages, different school cycles, and unfamiliar terminology, it isn’t always easy to know what your child is learning or how best to support them.

LetzSchool was created to make the Luxembourg public school system easier to understand.

The goal is simple: to explain how the system works in clear English, helping parents navigate everything from language learning and school reports to curriculum expectations and everyday school life.

About the author

I’m Gavin, a Luxembourgish parent of three children. After spending 15 years abroad studying and working, I returned to Luxembourg with my family a few years ago.

Like many parents, I’ve spent countless hours trying to understand how the school system works and what children are expected to learn at each stage. I was surprised by how difficult it was to find clear information, especially in English.

Through LetzSchool, I hope to make that journey a little easier for other families. Rather than simply translating official information, my aim is to answer the questions that we wished we’d had answers to when we were starting out.

Whether you’re new to Luxembourg or simply looking for clearer explanations of the education system, I hope LetzSchool becomes a trusted resource for your family.
